The only machine work on our Fat Cat springer plans is the weld-in spuds for the bottom of the fork and spring legs. These are simple enough to machine, but not everyone has a lathe and mill. We’re offering these CNC machined spuds for those of you that want to build your own springer, but don’t have a home machine shop.

These spuds are exactly what are called out in the Fat Cat plans, machined from 1020 mild steel. The boss that fits inside of the tube is 6” long, and they are sized for the 1.5” and 1.25” tubes called out in the plans. Just slip them into your fork legs, weld them up and you’re ready to go.
